Poetry Competition from Cafe Writers with a Chance to Win £1,000

Cafe writers announce the Cafe Writers Poetry Competition 2022. Prize winners will be notified in writing by 28th February 2023. The list of prize winners will be displayed in the Newsletter and the Website shortly after this and then on Social Media before the prize-giving event at Café Writers on 13th March 2023.

1. The winner of 1st place will receive £1000.
2. The winner of 2nd place will receive £300.
3. The winner of 3rd place will receive £200.
4. The winners of the five commended prizes will receive £50.
5. The winner of the Norfolk Prize will receive £100.

1. The maximum length for each poem is 40 lines excluding the title. Breaks between stanzas do not count toward the total of 40 lines.
2. The Prize is open to anyone other than Café Writers committee members.
3. Entries must be entirely your work of you and must never have been published, self-published, or published on any website or broadcast.
4. Entries cannot be returned.
5. Entries must be in English.
6. Each poem should be sent as a separate document [if entering by email] or start on a separate page [if entering by post] and have no identifying marks other than the title.
7. No corrections can be made after receipt, nor fees are refunded.
8. You will keep the worldwide copyright of your entry, but Café Writers will have the unrestricted right to publish the winning poems on its website and in competition publicity.
9. The judge’s decision is final and no individual correspondence can be entered into.
10. You can pay online using Paypal.
11. Attach the Document[s] to an email. As the subject heading to your email, please write your name and your Paypal Transaction Number eg John Keats 7PO79029E497164P. In the body of the email include your name, address, email address, and titles of your poem/s.

16. 4 poems £12.00 GBP
17. 5 poems £14.00 GBP
18. 6 poems £16.00 GBP
