Opportunity description
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Istanbul Regional Hub (IRH) is seeking 2 Online Volunteers to provide Editing & Proofreading Support for regional and country care systems review reports. For a duration of 12 weeks (16-20 hours per week), volunteers will ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency in language, style, and formatting for reports focusing on gender equality and inclusive growth.

Duties & responsibilities
- Edit and proofread assigned reports to ensure accuracy in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and overall language quality.
- Maintain consistency in terminology, style, tone, and formatting across all documents.
- Review content for clarity, coherence, and logical flow, providing constructive suggestions for improvement.
- Verify the correct formatting and accuracy of references, footnotes, citations, and annexures.
- Collaborate regularly with fellow volunteers to align on editing standards and maintain uniformity.
- Liaise with UNDP specialists and Country Offices to clarify technical content and incorporate feedback effectively.
- Ensure all final documents meet UNDP publication guidelines and are fully prepared for dissemination.
Eligibility criteria
- Demonstrate native-level proficiency in English, with exceptional command of grammar, vocabulary, and syntax.
- Possess proven experience in editing and proofreading technical and/or academic publications.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and precision in written content.
- Show familiarity with recognized style guides and publication standards, applying them consistently across documents.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with fellow volunteers and coordinate seamlessly with UNDP teams.
- Knowledge of international development, social protection, and gender equality is considered a strong asset.
