UNV offers an onlinevolunteer opportunity in the field of editing for a period of 2 weeks. You will mainly support offering an edited paper on Structural Transformation and Labour Markets in Asia and the Pacific, ready for publication which will provide a set of practical recommendations directed at public decision-makers aimed at addressing the most pressing challenges that are constraining the labor market performance and the continued process of structural transformation of APAC countries.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Review the 75 pages draft report, make grammatical corrections, point out factual inconsistencies, inconsistencies in arguments, faulty logic, and awkward or unclear passages, and suggest solutions.
- Ensure all references are in order, requesting source information for tables and figures when such information is missing.
- Edited paper on Structural Transformation and Labour Markets in Asia and the Pacific, ready for publication.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- Master’s degree in social sciences, journalism, public policy, or other relevant field. A certificate/degree in copy editing, publishing, or an equivalent field.
- At least 5 years of experience in writing, copy editing, and formatting meeting reports and other advanced written products for international organizations, national governments, NGOs, and/or development partners.
- Excellent command of English - both written and spoken.
- Experience with UN Copy-editing experience and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to write concisely and clearly.
- Treat written material in confidence regardless of the content.
- Knowledge of the UN, including UNDP terms, language, and style.
