Opportunity description
UNV offers a volunteer opportunity in Somalia and announces its need for the efforts of one volunteer to work as an electoral reporting specialist during the period from 15/07/2023 to 31/12/2023. This task aims mainly to provide technical and operational support to NIEC subnational structures.
Duties & responsibilities
You will undertake the following tasks:
- Ensure that all reports are received regularly and within set deadlines.
- Compile regular reports for IESG on all electoral developments and issues in the field, including ongoing and potential challenges.
- Compile daily, weekly and ad hoc reports, newsletters, preparing monitoring tables, minutes, and fact sheets.
- Prepare reports of meetings and any other duties that are assigned.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- Master degree or equivalent in Political science, communications, international relations, law, public administration, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in responsible experience in elections and related areas.
- Excellent drafting skills in English.
- Good knowledge of UN field Mission(SPM/DPKO).
- Experience in implementing, supporting or advising on electoral processes in multiple countries.
- Electoral experience in developing or transition economies.
- Experience in post-conflict situations.
- License for light vehicles.
- Fluent in English.
- Adaptability and Flexibility.
- Commitment to continuous learning.
- Communication, planning and organizing skills.
- Respect for diversity and working in teams.
- Candidate must be a national of a country other than the country of assignment and aged between 27 - 80.
