Fully Funded Research Scholarships in the Field of Engineering at Swansea University in the UK

Swansea University offers a number of fully funded Phd scholarships in EngD in Materials, Modelling, and Manufacturing major that will be awarded within the research project; The Development of Low Particulate Emissions Coatings for EURO 7-Compliant Disc Brake Components. The proposed projects will investigate the development of environmentally-friendly powder alloy coatings for brake disc components and their application by high-efficiency laser techniques. The students will be based at Swansea University but will be expected to spend time with the sponsoring company (LSN Diffusion) on a regular basis, as required.

If you get one of these scholarships, you will have:

• A full tax-free stipend (currently £22,000 per annum).
• Tuition fees.
• Also, a generous budget is available to support training, project costs, industry placements, and travel to enable you to network and showcase your research at an international conference.

You should follow the following criteria:

• You must normally hold at minimum (or expect to obtain by the start date) an undergraduate degree at 2.1 level (or Non-UK equivalent) or a combination of degree and equivalent experience to the same level. 
• The mode of study is full-time.
• English Language requirements: If applicable – IELTS 6.5 overall (with at least 6.0 in each individual component) or Swansea recognized equivalent. 
• Studentships for October 2023 entry are open to candidates of any nationality.

Please note that the program requires some winners' applicants to hold ATAS clearance.
