Opportunity description
Skateholders is an ongoing cultural project as part of the European Capital of Culture 2028 program in České Budějovice, aiming to develop skateboarding by strengthening community activities and activating public spaces. Collaborating with skateboarders, architects, and local stakeholders, the project works to expand skateboarding infrastructure in the city through small-scale architectural interventions.
Financial Benefits and Coverage
The opportunity covers travel costs within the CreArt network cities, full accommodation for the residency period, a material budget worth 1,000 EUR, and an artist fee amounting to 1,000 EUR, which includes food expenses.
Eligibility Requirements
- Has a background in skateboarding, DIY culture, street culture, urban practices, or related fields.
- Interested in exploring self-made skateboarding as a craft, an art form, a philosophy, a lifestyle, a grassroots urban movement, or a form of civic resistance.
- Available for an approximately five-week residency in České Budějovice in summer 2026, with mandatory attendance during the Skateholders Forum (first week of July 2026).
