Applications are now open for the 2026 Bachelor's scholarships in South Africa. This scholarship presents a unique opportunity for students pursuing sports, arts, and culture studies to gain full financial support from the Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture.
Financial Benefits and Coverage
The scholarship covers 100% tuition fees, offers a monthly stipend of $1,000, health insurance, and travel expenses.Eligibility Requirements
- Currently a Grade 12 student in the year of application.
- The applicant must be no older than 21 years in the year of application.
- The applicant must be a South African citizen.
- Intends to study for a degree in Commerce, Science, Engineering, Law, Humanities, Arts, or Health Sciences (excluding Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, and Dentistry) at one of the following universities: WITS, UJ, UCT, NMU, RU, UWC, SU, UP, UFS, UKZN, or TSiBA.
- A minimum of 60% in Mathematics or 80% in Mathematical Literacy in the final Grade 11 results is required.
- A minimum overall average of 70% in the final Grade 11 results is required.
Benefits
Applicants whose total annual household income is one million rand or less will receive full funding, including university accommodation, meals, textbooks, tutoring allowance, and a monthly stipend.
