Opportunity description
Erasmus Mundus offers a 24-month, full-time master's program entitled Models and Methods of Quantitative Economics (QEM). The program focuses on practical applications of advanced methodologies and models in economics, with scientific courses taught in English, Culture and local language courses, and mobility between two or three Universities across Europe.
Benefits
Students from Erasmus+ partner countries:
- Contribution to travel, visa, installation and other costs: € 2,000 or € 3,000 per year plus € 1,000 installation costs.
- Participation costs, including tuition fees and insurance: € 9,000 per year (full costs)
- Monthly allowance for living costs: € 1,000 per month
Students from Erasmus+ programme countries:
- Contribution to travel, visa, installation and other costs: € 1,000 per year per year.
- Participation costs, including tuition fees and insurance: € 4,500 per year (full costs)
- Monthly allowance for living costs: € 1,000 per month
Eligibility criteria
- The applicant must have a Bachelor's degree in Economics or equivalent.
- The applicants must have performed well above average during their undergraduate studies.
- English Proficiency for applicants whose native language is not English, a test such as TOEFL, IELTS, etc. must be submitted.
- The grade must not be less than the following:
- TOEFL (IBT): 76
- TOEFL (Computer-based): 230
- TOEFL (Paper-based): 550
- IELTS: 6.0
- Cambridge Examination: C
- Advanced Cambridge Test: B
- Applicants who have already obtained an EMJMD scholarship or are former Erasmus Mundus Master/Doctoral Course scholarship holders are not eligible for an additional scholarship under the EMJMD action.
- Students benefiting from an EMJMD scholarship cannot benefit from another EU grant while pursuing their EMJMD studies.
- No more than three students selected for the scholarship can have the same nationality.
Selection Criteria:
The Committee will classify candidates pursuant to the following criteria, chosen to select the best-suited candidates: academic record, relevant academic background in quantitative methods, motivation of the candidate, recommendations, work experience, internships, research paper, and social competence.
About QEM:
The QEM (Models and Methods of Quantitative Economics), is an Erasmus Mundus post-graduate master's degree in economics. The program combines core economic theory with related quantitative disciplines such as Probability, Statistics, Econometrics, Finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematical Modelling, Computation and Simulation, Experimental Design, and Political Science.
