Opportunity description

McGill University in Canada offers the McCall MacBain Scholarship 2027, a fully funded scholarship that enables outstanding students to pursue an eligible master’s degree or selected professional program at the university, while also taking part in a comprehensive leadership development, mentorship, and international networking program.

The scholarship is one of McGill University’s leading graduate funding programs. Up to 30 students are selected each year for the full scholarship, including approximately 20 Canadian students and 10 international students. The program also offers up to 100 additional entrance awards to outstanding applicants.

Benefits

Recipients of the full McCall MacBain Scholarship receive:

  • Full coverage of tuition and university fees for the normal duration of the eligible program.
  • living stipend of CAD 2,300 per month during academic terms.
  • one-time relocation grant to help cover the cost of moving to Montreal.
  • The opportunity to apply for up to CAD 5,000 in funding for eligible summer initiatives and activities when the student is not enrolled in an academic term during the summer.

  • The opportunity to take French language courses at McGill, from beginner to advanced levels.

Eligibility criteria

To apply for the 2027 cohort, applicants must meet at least one of the following conditions:

  • Be a current student expected to earn their first bachelor’s degree by August 2027.
  • Have earned their first bachelor’s degree within the last five years, meaning January 2021 or later.
  • Have earned their first bachelor’s degree more than five years ago and be 30 years old or younger as of January 1, 2026.

Applicants must also:

  • Meet the minimum admission requirements for their chosen master’s program at McGill University.
  • Meet the language requirements of the selected academic program.
  • Apply separately to an eligible McGill program in addition to submitting the scholarship application.
