PML Foundation announces Fully Funded Trevor Platt Fellowship 2024 in the UK. This fellowship opportunity supports one fellow each year to conduct a research project at PML in any aspect of biological oceanography, such as:
- Primary production, physiology and ecology of marine phytoplankton.
- Thermodynamics of aquatic ecosystems.
- Physical and biological interactions in the ocean.
- Marine optics.
- Remote sensing of ambient color.
- Ocean carbon cycle and climate change.
- Water quality and human health.
- Time series of ocean observations and analyses.
- Ecological approach to fisheries management.
- International cooperation and capacity building.
- Ocean management.
Benefits
This fellowship will provide a financial grant of £15,000 to include:
- Travel expenses
- Visa
- Residence
- Cost of living.

Eligibility criteria
- The application committee will use five main criteria to evaluate applicants, based on the quality and importance of documents submitted during the application process:
- Quality of application form.
- Quality of applicant/CV.
- Relevance of the application form to the scientific priority areas of PML
- Evidence that training will build your capacity and lasting impact on regional monitoring operations.
- The importance of the host in PML.
- Interviews will be conducted online in February 2024 with the fellowship beginning in Summer 2024.
