Opportunity description
GAP Youth Association (GAP Gençlik Derneği) in Şanlıurfa, Türkiye, is accepting volunteers through the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) for a project focused on working with young people, children, and refugees.
Volunteers will participate in organizing youth activities, non-formal education sessions, interactive workshops, and outdoor activities. They will also contribute to developing youth projects and promoting social inclusion and intercultural understanding.
The volunteering period ranges from two months for short-term volunteers to six months for long-term volunteers, between March 1, 2026, and February 28, 2027.
Duties & responsibilities
- Full funding through the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) programme.
- Shared accommodation.
- A food allowance.
- A monthly pocket-money allowance.
- Reimbursement of travel expenses in accordance with programme rules.
- Coverage of transportation costs related to project activities.
- Internet access at the accommodation and activity venue.
- On-arrival training.
- Free Turkish language courses for long-term volunteers.
- Participation in workshops and training activities.
- Practical experience working with young people and refugees.
- Development of project management and multicultural teamwork skills.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a citizen or legal resident of one of the eligible countries, including Jordan and Lebanon, as well as several European countries.
- Be open to different cultures.
- Demonstrate initiative and strong teamwork skills.
- Have an interest in working with children, young people, and refugees.
- Be able to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Respect the values of inclusion, equality, and diversity.
- Be willing to learn and gain new experiences.
