Opportunity description

The European Solidarity Corps is offering a funded volunteering opportunity at the local tourist office in Rochefort in Belgium, for a total of 31 weeks from January to October 2023. 

Duties & responsibilities

  1. The volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in various activities of the organization: administrative, cultural, logistic.
  2. The first weeks will consist of showing the volunteer all the tasks that the organization is working on, so gradually they can participate more and more in all of them.
  3. A variety of tasks will allow the volunteers to find something that suits their interests and pursue it.
  4. The aim is to help the association in their daily tasks (at the ticket stands, in the tourism centre and the attractions), and help with event organisation, management of volunteers and outdoor maintenance tasks.
  5. On arrival and mid term seminar; opportunity to take part in the training for camp leaders of the support organisation. Other trainings proposed to the SI team might be also proposed to the volunteer.

Eligibility criteria

  1. Open to anybody motivated by volunteering and who wishes to be involved in the organization and working in the field of community development, regardless to their nationality, religion, believes, diploma, professional experience.
  2. Motivated to join the activity, to be open-minded, creative and pro-active about their project.
  3. The volunteer be prepared for a rural environment and spending time outside.

 Benefits:

  1. The volunteer will live in Rochefort in a house shared with other international volunteers. S/he will have their own room and will share the rest of the house.
  2. The volunteer will receive a budget and will take care of the meals on their own.
  3. The volunteer will receive a small allowance (pocket money) for personal expenses throughout the duration of the activity, including holidays.
