The WHO European Centre for Preparedness for Humanitarian and Health Emergencies in Istanbul, Turkiye, is looking for one online volunteer to design and provide the layout of an annual report for the WHO European Centre for Preparedness for Humanitarian and Health Emergencies, with experience in the graphic design field. The selected volunteer will have a chance to learn more on the activities conducted by WHO in the European Region to strengthen the Member States' preparedness for humanitarian and health emergencies while supporting the team firsthand.
Duties & responsibilities
- Develop the design and layout of the document with a consistent structure and color scheme, developing both a printable version and a digital version.
- Liaise with the team in case of edits.
- Ensure that internal PDF links for the digital version (e.g. references, footnotes, annexures) are functional.
- Ensure that photos and graphics are of high quality in both print and digital quality.
- Follow consistency of WHO/Europe guidelines for print and digital publications, to be provided by the Centre.
- Share the relevant design packages with the Centre upon completion of the task, ensuring the files are easily cleaned and editable in graphic design software.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- Experience using computers and software for graphic design and layout of technical publications in both print and digital formats.
- Knowledge of professional graphic design software packages.
- Fluent in the English language.
- Ability to work 11 - 15 hours per week.
