The Radcliffe Fellowship Program at Harvard Radcliffe Institute offers exceptional scholars, artists, public intellectuals, and scientists a unique chance to focus on groundbreaking research or creative projects in a supportive and collaborative environment. This prestigious fellowship allows individuals to step away from the usual demands of their work and dedicate an entire year to innovative scholarship and artistic endeavors.

What is the Radcliffe Fellowship?

Radcliffe fellows are chosen from diverse disciplines including humanities, social sciences, creative arts, science, engineering, and mathematics. The fellowship program supports engaged scholarship—projects that challenge conventions, create new tools and methods, and address critical social, political, or environmental issues.

Available Subjects:

  • Academic Freedom and Diversity: Projects that explore intellectual diversity, political polarization, and the role of higher education in promoting free inquiry.
  • Women, Gender, and Society: Proposals focusing on issues related to women’s rights, gender equality, and societal change.
  • Scientific and Technological Advancements: Proposals from fields impacted by federal research funding cuts, focusing on areas like engineering and data science.

The deadline for applications in humanities, social sciences, and creative arts is September 11, 2025, 11:59 PM ET.
