Opportunity description

UNV offers a volunteer opportunity in Lebanon to work as an information management officer starting from 01/01/2024 for 6 months with the possibility of extension.

Duties & responsibilities

You will be responsible for:
  • General Information Management and Coordination:
  • Perform assignments in the management of information on behalf of the Social Stability & Livelihoods sectors of the LRP and the Stabilization dimension of the LRP including finalizing dashboards.
  • Support in the analysis of the data regarding the Social Stability and livelihoods sectors.
  • Work with Social Stability & Livelihoods technical officers to support survey initiatives; design data collection tools.
  • Review, analyze, and interpret responses, identify problems/issues, and prepare conclusions.
  • Prepare various written and infographic outputs, e.g. snapshots, humanitarian issue profiles, maps, and graphs, for humanitarian appeals and relevant reports on humanitarian issues/projects.
  • “Activity Info” Reporting Platform, including the Who Does What and Where (3W/5W) database:
  • Support the development of the following: standardized reporting formats, SOPs for need assessments, and consolidating reports and data in the required formats for internal and external use.
  • Contribute significantly to the regular updating of 3W information by gathering information from organizations.
  • On a regular basis, collate and disseminate 3W maps to the humanitarian and development community.
  • Support partners in the reporting process to ensure proper streamlining of data.
  • Support the development of ICT procedures for the gathering/exchange of data with contributing partners as well as in the implementation of these procedures.
  • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Eligibility criteria

You must have:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Information Management (GIS, IM Software and infographic outputs (such as flash animation and/or any visual activities).
  • 3 years of experience in information management (GIS, IM Software, and infographic outputs (such as flash animation and/or any visual activities).
  • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, and reporting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels.
  • Familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development.
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel.
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management.
  • Sound security awareness.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English.
  • Planning, organizing, and communication skills.

Pleased note: Candidate must be a national or legal resident of the country of assignment and be aged 27 - 80.
