Opportunity description
UNV offers an online volunteer opportunity and announces its need for the efforts of 3 volunteers in Information Management (Data visualization). IOM Sudan is looking for online volunteers for a period of 12 weeks to be responsible for supporting the program-related tasks explicitly focusing on data visualization and database/information management as related to enhancing the reporting quality and data analysis of IOM Sudan’s health and nutrition in emergencies program.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the program-related tasks specifically focusing on database/information management.
- Assist in regularly compiling and reviewing data for primary healthcare services delivered and/or supported by IOM through mobile and static clinics.
- Provide assistance to the timely preparation and generation of information products, and support on information sharing and dissemination to all relevant channels.
- Support the implementation of data collection by reviewing tools such as KOBO or Excel, and other data relevant platforms.
- Provide inputs on the use of effective internet-based systems including GIS that can be used to upload and share data, maps, and graphics.
- Assist in the implementation of accountability mechanisms within the Health Program based on the guidelines established within the MEAL system, as requested.
- Any other such duties as requested.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- A university degree in Information Management or a relevant degree, coupled with years of experience.
- Experience in the management and coordination of information flows, data management including collection, storing, processing, and analysing data to generate information products.
- Work experience in UN agencies, NGOs, and related humanitarian response bodies is an added advantage.
- Experience in data visualization in the area of humanitarian assistance.
- Experience in GIS in the area of public health.
- Experience in research and report writing.
- Knowledge of Relational Database Management System and MS Office applications.
- Advanced data visualization and information design skills.
- Strong computer background in Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, ACCESS, Power BI).
- In-depth knowledge of the latest technological developments in information technology and information system.
- Ability to formulate IM-related technical requirements and Operating Procedures.
- Fluent in the English language.
