Opportunity description
The MIAMI Shoe Museum in the United States is accepting entries for the fourth edition of the MIAMI vibes 4.0: AI Footwear Design Challenge 2026, an international competition focused on footwear design using artificial intelligence.
This year’s competition is held under the theme “Designing for the New Space Age” and invites designers, artists, students, and creatives from around the world to develop futuristic footwear concepts that combine artistic creativity, technology, and cultural heritage.
Designs may be practical and wearable or conceptual and futuristic, with a focus on themes such as sustainability, advanced materials, future fashion, human movement, and space exploration. Participants will have the opportunity to present their work before an international jury, with selected designs potentially featured in a global digital exhibition and presented at a shoe museum in Portugal.
Participation Categories
Professional Category: For professional designers, footwear specialists, architects, artists, and other creative practitioners.
Emerging Creators: For university and college students, recent graduates, and designers at the beginning of their professional careers.
Youth Category: For participants aged 13 to 17, with the approval and supervision of an authorized adult.

Eligibility criteria
Participation is open to individuals from around the world.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old to enter the Professional or Emerging Creators categories.
Young people aged 13 to 17 may participate through a parent, guardian, or authorized adult representative who submits the application on their behalf.
Submit an original futuristic footwear design concept related to the competition theme.
Explain how artificial intelligence was used in the design process.
Submit a video of up to two minutes explaining the design.
Submit 2D or 3D digital designs or prototypes, including at least four required viewing angles.
Applicants must own the rights to the submitted work or have the necessary permissions to use any external materials.
A maximum of two designs may be submitted, with a separate application and separate fee required for each design.
MIAMI vibes 4.0 Competition Fees 2026
Professional Category: US$75.
Emerging Creators and Students: US$55.
Youth Category (ages 13–17): US$35.

The fee is charged for each submitted design.
Participants may submit a maximum of two designs, with a separate fee required for each one.
Participation fees are non-refundable.
Additional taxes may apply depending on the country.
