Ironclad Creative CIC is an organization dedicated to supporting writers and the literary community through creative development, workshops, and opportunities for publication. It aims to empower emerging and established authors by providing platforms to showcase their talent and connect with a global audience.
The Ironclad Creative Short Story Competition invites writers—both published and unpublished—to submit original short stories inspired by the theme “SWITCH.” The word can be used or simply serve as inspiration. Stories of up to 6,000 words are accepted in any narrative genre (except plays, poetry, or screenplays). Winning and shortlisted stories will be published in a special anthology to be released in December.
Deadline
The submission deadline is October 31, 2025, at 11:59 PM (GMT).
Benefits
First Prize: £100 + publication in the anthology
Second Prize: £50 + publication
Third Prize: £25 + publication
All shortlisted writers will also be offered publication
Opportunity for literary recognition and inclusion in a professionally published collection
Eligibility criteria
Open to writers worldwide, both published and unpublished
Stories must be original and unpublished
Maximum length: 6,000 words
Must be written in English
No plays, poetry, or screenplays accepted
Multiple submissions are allowed, but each story must be submitted separately with its own entry fee
