Competition in the Field of the Networking & Internet and a Chance to Win US$20,000

Internet Society is calling the individuals or organization that has made outstanding and sustained contributions in service to the Internet community to a competition that runs annually with a title; Jonathan B. Postel Service Award. The award is named after Dr. Jonathan B. Postel who had worked throughout a 30-year in networking with a spirit of selflessly to make the Internet a place of possibility and opportunity. You can participate by various contributions which could include developing new protocols, devices, techniques, technical processes, or tools that lead to the growth, usefulness, or strength of the Internet. This is your chance to get amazing prizes.

If you win this competition, you will have:

• A US$20,000.
• Honorarium at a virtual global conference with Internet technical leaders.
• The signature crystal engraved globe later this year.

You should follow the following criteria:

• The award is focused on sustained and substantial technical contributions, service to the community, and leadership. 
• Concerning leadership, the nominating committee places particular emphasis on candidates who have supported and enabled others in their work.
• You must include specific acts, works, contributions, and other criteria that exemplify how you have been in service of the Internet and its communities along with two references to support the nomination.

Please note that self-nominations will not be accepted.

Competition Timeline:

• Nominations open: On 25 March 2022.
• Nominations close: On 13 May 2022.
• Evaluation of nominations and drawing up a list of final candidates: On 23 May – 10 June 2022.
• Winners Selection: 13 June – 1 July 2022.
• Winners announcement: 5-11 November 2022.

Selection Criteria:

Your work will be selected based on:

• Technical Contributions and development of new technologies that have extended the Internet’s functionality or scope.
• Leadership through brought a community together, formed a group, or motivated an existing organization to contribute innovations and advance the Internet.
• Service to the Community.
