Opportunity description

This United Nations Volunteers (UNV) assignment is part of UNICEF Pakistan’s education programme, which supports the Government of Pakistan in achieving equitable, inclusive, and quality education for all children. This is a full-time, onsite role focusing on early childhood education, foundational literacy, and education in emergencies. This opportunity is entirely FREE; the United Nations does not charge any application, processing, training, interviewing, testing, or other fees. Additionally, a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of PKR 105,097 is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities, and living expenses, alongside health insurance and a resettlement allowance.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Track and follow up on action points from meetings with ministries, departments, and development partners.

  • Assist in monitoring the implementation progress of Global Partnership for Education (GPE) and European Union-supported programmes.

  • Support research, data collection, and progress updates on Early Childhood Development (ECD) and foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) programmes.

  • Draft meeting notes, briefs, and summary reports from technical discussions and coordination meetings.

  • Assist in compiling the latest education data into infographics and maintain databases of sector studies.

  • Support in organizing workshops and review meetings, including providing administrative and logistical support.

  • Draft internal communication notes and partner updates for advocacy and knowledge sharing.

Eligibility criteria


  • Age: Must be between 18 and 80 years old.

  • Nationality: Must be a national, legal resident, or hold refugee status in Pakistan.

  • Required Experience: Minimum of 1 month of relevant experience.

  • Languages: Working knowledge of English and Native proficiency in Urdu.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Sciences, Economics, Public Administration, Public Policy, Development Studies, or International Development.

  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), excellent drafting and reporting abilities, and solid organizational skills.

  • COVID-19 Vaccination: Must be fully vaccinated with a WHO-endorsed vaccine prior to taking up the appointment.
