Opportunity description
Launched in 2016, the LAF Fellowship for Innovation and Leadership is designed to support mid-career and senior professionals in landscape architecture who are eager to step outside the boundaries of traditional practice. This fellowship offers time, structure, and financial support to explore, research, and develop ideas that address critical global challenges.
Every year, six fellows and recent LAF Olmsted Scholars are selected to pursue an original project aligned with LAF’s goals. Fellows receive $25,000 in funding and partake in three 2.5-day residencies and monthly virtual meetings. This comprehensive program includes leadership development, mentorship, and public engagement.
The fellowship is grounded in supporting innovation in landscape architecture, cultivating transformational leadership, and fostering intergenerational mentorship. These aspects collectively nurture professionals to lead change within and beyond the discipline.
Eligible applicants must be landscape architects with a minimum of six years of professional experience and a compelling proposal for an innovative project. The fellowship is open to applicants of all nationalities.
Application must be submitted by September 15, 2025. Further information regarding the application process is available on the official LAF Fellowship page.
