Design Competition from Typoday and a Chance to Win a Lot of Perks and Prizes

Typoday is pleased to announce the design competition in its sixteenth edition which has been launched this time on the theme; The Sacred and Typography. It calls all participants to design a logo for ‘Typography Day 2023’ so that it expresses the theme of the event. As the conference is being held in the sacred city of Varanasi, it is better to include the context of it in the design of the logo.

If you are among the winners, you will have a unique chance to:

You should follow the following criteria:

• This competition is open to students. 
• The competition is open to all - nonresident Indians, as well as foreign citizens, can take part in it.
•  The logo should also include the words ‘Typography Day 2023’ or ‘Typo Day 2023’.
• Calligraphic or digitally created letterforms or existing fonts, or a combination of these can be used for the logo.
• Submission Specifications: 
• You need to submit the solution along with a brief write-up of around 100 words written in the English language.
• Poster:
• Size of the final logo: 300mm x 100mm only in wide format
• Resolution: 300 dpi
• File type: JPEG or PDF
• Color Mode: CMYK
• Write-up + contact Info+Bio:
• Format: in RTF, TXT, or PDF format
• Write up about the design: Maximum 100 words and should be written in the English language.
• Contact Info: Name, Postal Address, Email, Telephone number, Name and Address of Institution in English.
• Your Bio-data/Personal Information: Maximum of 100 words and should be written in English.
• Each participant is allowed a maximum of three entries.

About Typography Day:

Typography Day will be held for the sixteenth time on the 26th, 27th, and 28th of October 2023 hosted by the Department of Applied Arts, Faculty of Visual Arts Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (BHU Varanasi) in collaboration with the IDC School of Design (IDC), Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) with support from India Design Association (InDeAs) and Aksharaya. The event will feature workshops on Typography and Calligraphy followed by a conference dedicated to 'Sacred and Typography'.
