Opportunity description

LTV is pleased to announce the start of Fone Film Festival events and a chance to participate in a competition for filmmakers on the sidelines of the festival. ​Submissions are open to anyone 21 years old or younger with a Smartphone and a compelling story to tell. This festival is started as a way to spark creativity in young people with limited resources and as a way to discover young filmmakers, give them visibility and support them through involvement with LTV. It is a chance for young people to push the boundaries of narrative and style.

Festival Categories:

  1. Fiction.
  2. Documentary.
  3. Musical Video.
  4. Animation.

  • The chance to exhibit your story to a wider audience.
  • The festival will take place with a marathon airing on December 20, 2021, and will be followed by individual broadcasts in the month of January 2022.

Eligibility criteria

You must follow these criteria:

  • Submissions are open to anyone 21 years old or younger who make short productions (max.15 min). 
  • Entrants can submit up to three films. 
  • The submitted short films must be shot with a Smartphone and indicate the Smartphone brand and model.
  •  Filmmakers can use other mobile devices (drones, etc) for a maximum of 10% of the total length of the short film.
  • The use of external elements and any software for editing or treatment of images is allowed.
  • ​ Allowed formats: mov, wmv, avi, mp4 (h264), mkv. The short films must have a quality no lower than 1080p.
  •  All persons or private spaces that appear in the short films must do so under their consent.
  • The short films must be owned by the producer(s).
  • The participant must have the right to use the music or soundtrack of the short film presented.
  • Films must be uploaded to Vimeo or another video platform and the filmmaker will provide a link to their downloadable file. 
  • All non-English foreign-language films must be subtitled in English.
  •  Participants agree to the reproduction and dissemination of their short films for informative or promotional purposes related to the festival.

LTV provides a free-speech television and media platform to share all manner of public discourse, education, and creative expression within the community and the world at large. channel space and time to East Hampton Town residents, non-profit organizations, educators, and governmental bodies to cablecast their programs. It offers media training in the use of accessible facilities, equipment. It houses an archive in which shows of historic value and interest to the East Hampton residents are preserved. LTV archives contain over 20,000 stories from the East End community.
