About ESCWA:
ESCWA was established in 1973, it is one of five regional commissions under the jurisdiction of the United Nations Economic and Social Council. The role of the Commission is to promote the economic and social development of Western Asia through regional and subregional cooperation and integration. It plays a critical role in promoting a holistic approach to development in their regions and balancing the economic, social, and environmental dimensions of sustainable development in their member States.
