Opportunity description

Devpost is pleased to open the application for a competition; monday.com climate change app challenge, which is a contest bringing developers around the world together with the mission to build apps that can help teams and organizations take an active role in combating climate change. This challenge is meant to empower more app developers to use their tech skills to improve climate change awareness within teams and organizations. Please note that all apps should be built on monday.com Work OS— a no-code/low-code platform.

If you are among the winners, you will have one of the following prizes:

  • 1st prize: Tesla Model 3 Long Range Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive ($70,000 USD in value).
  • Runners Up (2): $20,000 each.
  • Judge Pick (10): $5,000 each.

  • Your app in the ‘featured’ category in monday.com’s app Marketplace available to the 100,000 teams that use monday.com daily.

Eligibility criteria

You must follow the following criteria:

  • The Hackathon IS open to: 
  • Individuals who are at least the age of majority where they reside as of the time of entry.
  • Teams of Eligible Individuals.
  • Organizations (including corporations, not-for-profit corporations and other nonprofit organizations, limited liability companies, partnerships, and other legal entities) that exist and have been organized or incorporated at the time of entry.
  • An Eligible Individual may join more than one Team or Organization and an Eligible Individual who is part of a Team or Organization may also enter the Hackathon on an individual basis.
  • The Hackathon is NOT open to: 
  • Individuals who are residents of, or Organizations domiciled in, a country, state, province, or territory where the laws of the United States or local law prohibit participating or receiving a prize in the Hackathon.
  • Organizations and any other individual involved with the design, production, paid promotion, execution, or distribution of the Hackathon.
  • For this climate change app challenge, you are encouraged to partner with researchers, students, and sustainability-centric companies and non-profits to better understand the climate change challenge and guide you to build something that can really make a societal and/or environmental impact. 
  • Consider the elements of climate change your app can focus on including - but not limited to - pollution, global warming, waste disposal, ocean acidification, loss of biodiversity, deforestation, acid rain, public health, flooding, and earthquakes. 
  • Include a text description that should explain the features and functionality of your Project.
  • Explain how the Project allows teams to work in a more conscious way regarding climate change.
  • Identify that the Project has been uploaded to the monday.com app marketplace.
  • Include a demonstration video of your Project. The video portion of the submission:
  • should be less than three (3) minutes.
  • should include footage that shows the Project functioning on the monday apps framework platform must be uploaded to and made publicly visible on YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook Video, or Youku, and a link to the video must be provided on the submission form on the Hackathon Website.
  • Be the original work of the submitter, be solely owned by the submitter, and not violate the IP rights of any other person or entity.
  • You may submit more than one Submission, however, each submission must be unique.
  • All Submission materials must be in English or, if not in English, the Entrant must provide an English translation.

  • Impact.
  • Craftsmanship.
  • Creative.
  • Scalability.
