Opportunity description
The ON PAPER project invites artists from all over the world to participate in a competition for artwork printed in traditional ways. The shortlisted artists will have their work shown in Tinta Invisible (Barcelona, Spain) in July 2022. An international jury will vote to select the shortlisted artists; the winner will be the artist with the most votes.
All artists who submit work to the contest will be shown on website, onpapercontest.com, in the ‘PARTICIPANTS’ section for a minimum of one year. The artists shortlisted for the prize and the exhibition will be notified via social media by May 1st 2022. The winner will be announced during the opening night of the show on the 30th of June 2022 in Tinta Invisible (Barcelona, Spain). The shortlisted artists must ship the selected work unframed and unmounted to the address supplied to them in their notification email. The artists mare responsible for all shipping costs.

Prizes will be awarded to the most creative publications:
- The ON PAPER first prize is 1000€.
- The second prize, 300€
Eligibility criteria
- Each artist can submit one piece of work on a paper size of 300mm x 400mm (30cm x 40cm) or the equivalent 11 x 17in.
- The print size can be any within the size of the paper. The work can be horizontal or vertical.
- The work must have been made using any traditional printmaking techniques, including screen printing, lithography, etching, collagraph, monotype, electro-etching, woodcut, photopolymer, etc.
- Digital prints (prints made with a printer) are not accepted. However, digital processes can be used to elaborate prints that are traditionally printed.
- The work must be relatively new, completed in the last couple of years and not have received a prize before.
About ON PAPER:
ON PAPER is a project to promote the art of printmaking and develop connections between printmakers around the world. It is based in Barcelona and run by an art association with Nuria Melero as a main organizer.
