Opportunity description
F(r)iction platform announces its online contest that will give the winners the chance to win $1,000. The result of the competition will be announced on the 6th of September 2023. It is preferable that your submitted novels be strong and contain stories that have not been presented before.
Benefits
- The winner of the short story prize will receive $1,000.
- The winner of the creative nonfiction prize will receive $500.
- The winner of the flash fiction prize will receive $300.
- The winner of the poetry prize will receive $300.
Eligibility criteria
- Categories accepted at this competition:
- Short stories: 1,001 – 7,500 words.
- Flash fiction: up to 1,000 words per piece.
- Poetry: up the three pages per poem.

- The competition highly recommends checking out a past issue of F(r)iction.
- The winner will be announced publicly on September 6, 2023. All participants will be notified about the contest results through their Submittable account so please do not contact the competition before this date asking about the results.
- The competition accepts work, written in English, from anywhere in the world—regardless of genre, style, or origin—and welcomes speculative writing and experimental literature.
- The competition is unable to offer refunds for contest submissions, so please read the guidelines and choose your submission category carefully.
- The competition read all submissions anonymously. Please include your name and contact information in your cover letter only and remove any identifying information from both the submitted manuscript and the file name as well.
- The competition does not accept work previously published elsewhere.
- The competition does not accept AI Submissions.
