Opportunity description
The United Nations Volunteers program offers an online volunteering opportunity to design stories and publications for volunteers. As an important partner of UNV China, the Beijing Voluntary Service Federation (BVF) launched the project Promoting Sustainable Urban Development through Volunteer Service for the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2021 with UNDP, UNV and CICETE. BVF is looking for online volunteers with professional design experience to help edit volunteer stories and brochures before they go to print.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Design and plan written content for publications, which include volunteer stories and brochures, based on project requirements.
- The total number of pages required is approximately 200 pages.
- Ensure high quality and consistency in layout elements such as fonts, color matching, formatting and visual identity across all publications.
- Ensure aesthetic appearance and readability of the final design.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- One year experience in the field of layout design.
- Familiarity with digital design software and Microsoft software packages.
- High proficiency in layout design and strong knowledge of color theory.
- Strong interest and experience in volunteering or related activities.
- Working knowledge of English.
- Working knowledge of Chinese.
