UNV announces an online volunteer opportunity in donor research, partner outreach and grant proposal writing.
Duties & responsibilities
- The program is looking for three online volunteers to assist with donor research, partner outreach, and grant proposal writing.
- The tasks will be divided between the online volunteers, with each focusing on a specific area of the following:
- Donor Research
- Partner Outreach
- Grant Proposal Writing
- Each volunteer will be assigned one of these tasks, ensuring a clear division of responsibilities in line with the program’s policy of assigning one task per volunteer.
- Volunteers will also be responsible for researching potential organizations and donors focused on mental health and social services that could support the Social Services program and related initiatives. They will gather contact information and relevant details and draft outreach letters to request partnerships, as well as drafting clear and compelling correspondence, including cover letters, partnership proposals, and thank-you notes to communicate with donors and partners.
- Volunteers will also write three grant proposals specific to the Social Services program, ensuring that they align with the program’s goals and impact. All drafts will be submitted for internal review prior to final submission to ensure they meet the organization’s objectives.
- Note: Online volunteers will not be responsible for sending proposals or correspondence to designated donors or partners, as their focus will be on proposal writing, drafting and preparing materials.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Preferably have experience writing grants and creating formal correspondence.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing, with a keen eye for detail.
- Organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Preferably fluent in English.
