Opportunity description
The United Nations Volunteers Program offers an online volunteer opportunity to prepare the political brief for the Women’s Center for Legal and Social Aid (WCLAC) for the year 2023. The Center’s vision revolves around empowering women to enjoy their full rights in an independent and democratic Palestinian state in which the principles of justice, equality and the rule of law prevail. It also aims to:
- Strengthening the protection of women who suffer from discrimination and violence in Palestine.
- Promoting women's right to access justice and eliminating discriminatory policies against them.
- Increasing the social responsibility of Palestinian society towards women’s rights and eliminating discrimination against them.
Each year, the Women's Center for Legal Aid and Social Aid publishes a 15-page political brief on the political context in Palestine during the year, from a women's rights/gender perspective. WCLAC has already prepared a semi-annual policy brief for 2023, so the volunteer's job at this opportunity is to finalize/edit/improve the brief to cover all of 2023. You must have the skills to write, collect data, and research on gender topics and references in Palestine in order to be able to succeed in this opportunity.
