Opportunity description
UNV offers an online volunteering opportunity in translation to support the program in China. The United Nations Volunteers Program contributes to peace and development through volunteerism around the world. The Program works with a variety of partners to integrate United Nations Volunteers into development programs and promote the value and global recognition of volunteer work. To achieve this goal, the UNV China Field Unit (FU) seeks support from online volunteers in translating partnership documents that are essential for the ongoing activities and operations of the UNV China Unit.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Translation of work documents
- Translation of national talent pool data.
- Produce Chinese to English and English to Chinese translations of concept notes, reports and National Talent Pool information.
- Translating 2,000 to 3,000 words per week from the above documents.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- Master's degree in the field of English language, communications, international relations, public administration or any other related field.
- Translation experience (EN-ZH; ZH-EN).
- Passion for working to promote volunteer work.
- Work experience in international organizations.
- Working knowledge of English.
- Working knowledge of Chinese.
