United Nations Volunteers programme is offering an online volunteer opportunity: Communication and Social Media Support.
Duration:
12 weeks / 1 - 5 hours
Duties & responsibilities
- Developing and scheduling regular posts for Twitter and LinkedIn that align with our messaging and objectives (at least 2 posts per week for Twitter and 2 posts for LinkedIn).
- Writing blog-stlyle articles that highlights our initiatives, success stories, and thematic areas (at least 2 articles in total).
- Collaborating with IBG's Social Media focal points and other online volunteers to brainstorm content ideas and develop a content (participate in at least 1 brainstorming sessions per month).
- Monitoring social media performance and providing regular updates on content engagement and reach (support drafting of quarterly social media report).
- The volunteer will need to be active in a ad-hoc WhatsApp group for regular communication and coordination with the team.
Eligibility criteria
Required experience:
- Strong writing and editing skills, with a knack for storytelling
- Experience in creating content for social media, specifically Twitter and LinkedIn
- Proficiency in multimedia content creation, including graphics (for instance, through Canva or similar tools)
- Ability to work well in a team and independently
- Familiarity with social media management tools and analytics
- Passion for our organization's mission and values
