United Nations Volunteers programme is offering an online volunteer opportunity: Research support for technical backstopping of UN in Albania.
Duration:
12 weeks / 11 - 15 hours
Duties & responsibilities
- Update twice a month the Biweekly economics newsletter for UNCT based on provided sources;
- Contribute to drafting around 3-5 research briefs on environmental, economic and social topics
- Support Joint Projects with substantial environmental, economic and social analysis
- Support RCO efforts in coordination and liaison with resident and non-resident UN agencies, and with the government and other partners such as academia, civil society, private sector, etc.
- Support outreach and presentations of SDGs in academia and think tanks in Albania of about 3 times
- Assist in taking notes during meetings and in preparing minutes.
Eligibility criteria
Required experience:
- Candidates should have advanced computer skills and educational exposure AND/OR demonstrated interest AND/OR existing experience in researching and writing about economic and social development, sustainable development, and similar.
- Strong analytical and writing skills as well as ability to provide and present evidence in a concise manner is required.
- Familiarity and knowledge of SDGs is required.
- Candidate needs to include a paragraph on their previous academic or otherwise experience with SDGs in their application (cover letter).
- A degree or pursuing a degree in data analytics, economics, development or other related fields is considered an asset.
