United Nations Volunteers programme is offering an online volunteer opportunity: Translation of the training materials from English to Romanian.
Duration:
12 weeks/ 11 - 15 hours
Duties & responsibilities
- Translate the PowerPoint presentations from English to Romanian. In total about 20 Presentations with a maximum of 20 slides each.
- Translate accompanying, explanatory notes under each slide and supplementary materials, such as case studies, explanations, guides, and manuals. In total about 15 A4 format pages.
- Translate training questionnaires from English to Romanian. About 20 A4 format pages.
- Translate handouts and other training-related documents provided for the Pilot Project. About 25 A4 format pages.
- Review all translated materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity.
- Ensure that translated documents retain the original meaning and are culturally appropriate.
- Cross-check translations with the original documents to confirm that all content is accurately conveyed.
- Deliver final translated documents in both digital (PDF) and editable (Word) formats.
- Work closely with the UNICRI team, including consultants to receive feedback and ensure alignment with project objectives.•
- Maintain regular communication with the project team for updates and progress tracking.
Eligibility criteria
Required experience:
- Proficiency in both English and Romanian (written and spoken) is required.
- Strong ability to translate technical and complex content accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure high-quality translation and proofreading.
- Familiarity with PowerPoint or similar presentation software and document handling.
Languages:
- English, Level: Working knowledge, Desirable
