Opportunity description

The United Nations Volunteers Program is offering an online volunteer opportunity in Fundraising strategy towards Community Water Irrigation Project. The volunteer will work with the Community Development and Sustainability Organization in collecting grants from grant-making foundations internationally in order to overcome the shortage problems of tomatoes, vegetables, and onions for the people of Kenya.

Duties & responsibilities

  • The organization will provide you with an idea about the project, the people it will serve, objectives, and expected results. You will draft a project grant proposal and email it to the organization for review and CDS is responsible for its potential grant-making foundations, contacts, or donors.
  • You will sometimes do a google search, or reading website contents of potential partners and grant projects proposals with related budget per week. They are short, small projects, no more than 13-24 pages. Volunteers will not be asked to solicit or look for funds on behalf of the organization.

Eligibility criteria

  • Experience in fundraising.
  • English skills.
  • Ability to write 2 grant project proposals per week with a budget proposal.
  • Having internet and skills to do a research of call for proposals.
  • Agree to do a search for a grant-making foundation supporting a charity NGO in Kenya.
  • Online fundraising campaign skills.
