Short Film Competition and a Chance to Win Great Prizes

FilmFreeway is pleased to announce the events of the Oxford Shorts in its 4 edition and a unique competition for filmmakers. Oxford Shorts celebrates the diversity and creativity of short films and accepts both fictional and factual entries with great stories which stir emotions and have strong characters and unique voices or evocative worlds. Selected films will be considered for awards and get a chance to travel to the festival to represent your films and get a taste of the Oxford experience.

If you are among the winners, you will have:

• Best Film
• Best Documentary
• Best Director
• Best Lead Actor
• Best Lead Actress
• Best Young Performer
• Best Cinematography
• Best Screenplay
• Best Editing
• Best Production Design
• Best Music Score
• Best Sound
• Best Special Effects
• Additional awards may be added closer to the event.

You should follow the following criteria:

• Your film (including credits) should be no longer than 21:00 minutes. Longer films may still be considered, but this is down to the discretion of the festival.
• The film must have been completed on or after 1st January 2019.
• Any film not in the English language must contain burned-in subtitles.
• Any work submitted must be the completed version, not accept any work-in-progress.
• Multiple entries are allowed. You can submit more than one film to the festival but the submission fee must be paid for each film.
• Do not require premiere status.
• All submissions must be entered online via FilmFreeway and paid via credit card.
• All fees are non-refundable.
• Any film shortlisted by the festival must be distributed electronically to the festival organizers within two weeks of the notification date.
• Films should ideally be delivered in mp4/mov format (minimum 1080p quality) and encoded using h.264/AAC or ProRes, DCP is also accepted.
• No film may be withdrawn from the festival program by the filmmaker after it becomes an official selection.
• All attendees must be aged 18+.

• Artistic quality.
• Technical quality.
