Opportunity description

The University of Basel announces a series of partially funded PhD fellowships from Biozentrum in Switzerland. This opportunity is for you if you are talented and passionate about science, want to broaden your horizons and are interested in a wide range of research topics. Biozentrum encourages talented, ambitious and passionate young scientists from all over the world to apply for this opportunity. This fellowship is awarded to 10 candidates per year.

  • Scientific meetings and networking opportunities with current students and alumni of the Biozentrum PhD Fellowship Program.
  • Support for preparing your personal CV and postdoctoral application from Biozentrum faculty members.
  • Financial support for travel to postdoctoral interviews at the end of your doctoral thesis.

Eligibility criteria

  • You must have a university degree that qualifies you for a doctoral program at the University of Basel (Master’s or equivalent) or expect to obtain one soon.
  • In exceptional cases, excellent students with a 4-year Bachelor’s degree, usually from outside the Bologna system, who will be able to complete a Master’s program on an accelerated track at the University of Basel as part of their fellowship may be admitted.
  • Candidates can't be registered as doctoral students at the University of Basel nor sign a contract for a doctoral degree at the University of Basel on the date of the decision to call for the respective fellowships.
