The Chalmers University of Technology invites researchers to a fellowship opportunity; PhD student position in chemical functionalization of 2D materials. This position will be located at the division of Chemistry and Biochemistry, you will work on leading-edge and exciting research in chemistry and materials science: chemical functionalization of 2D materials using both covalent and noncovalent approaches with different organic reactions towards applications in energy storage devices such as supercapacitors. You will be part of a dynamic and international group, with a friendly working atmosphere and high-impact scientific outputs.

Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- A Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry, or Materials Chemistry.
- High motivation, and an analytical and problem-solving personality.
- Strong interest or previous experience in synthetic organic chemistry.
- Excellent team-working and communication skills.
- Good English communication skills, both orally as well as written.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for the progress and quality of the project.
- Full-time temporary employment.
Main responsibilities:
You will be responsible for :
- The majority of your working time is devoted to your research studies.
- You are expected to develop your own ideas.
- Communicate scientific results orally as well as in written form.
- 10-20% departmental work, mostly teaching duties.
Please note: The employment is limited to four years, with a possibility to be extended for a maximum of one year depending on how much administrative duties.
