The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) offers a volunteer opportunity in Palestine as a program monitoring assistant with UNICEF, Which is expected to start on 25/05/2023 for 12 months, with the possibility of extension. The Program Monitoring Assistant is to support the Child Protection section in providing technical and logistic support to the implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and administration of program/project activities, aligned with the Child Protection program goals, strategy, and priorities.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Prepare reports on Child Protection activities in West Bank by compiling data, analyzing and evaluating relevant information, and providing technical input in a timely and accurate manner.
- Conduct field monitoring and assurance visits to the project implementation sites in West Bank.
- Support in reviewing partner’s progress reports and verifying compliance with approved allocation, goals, organizational rules, regulations, procedures, and donor commitments.
- Prepare inputs for the program and donor reporting.
- Performs any other duties and responsibilities assigned as appropriate, and delivers the results as required.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in International Development, Law, Human Rights, Business Administration, Social sciences, or other relevant field.
- 1-2 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in administration, human rights, child protection, or other relevant programs.
- Experience working in the UN or other international development organization is an asset.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Excellent drafting, formulation, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners.
- Ability to learn, work, and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment.
- Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet.
- Familiarity with database management.
- Self-motivated, and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Teamwork and respect for diversity.
- Effective organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to establish priorities and to plan, and ability to work under pressure.
- Willingness to travel within the area of operations and to transfer to other duty stations within the area of operations as necessary.
