Opportunity description

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is seeking a dedicated National UN Volunteer to serve as a Programme Specialist based in Tunis, Tunisia. The volunteer will work under the regional framework for the Arab States to support the combat against human trafficking and the smuggling of migrants. This assignment is fully funded. The selected candidate will receive a monthly Volunteer Living Allowance of 2,349.66 TND to cover housing and basic needs, an entry lump sum of 350 USD, relocation costs if applicable, and comprehensive health insurance. There are absolutely no application or participation fees associated with this opportunity.



Duties & responsibilities

  • Assist the team in effective liaison and communications with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of programme activities such as workshops and training courses.

  • Assist in the preparation and dissemination of evaluation reports and consolidate feedback.

  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of projects by tracking indicators and documenting lessons learned.

  • Contribute to communication and visibility activities, including drafting web stories and brochures.

  • Support the preparation and organization of expert missions and technical meetings.

  • Assist with the translation of relevant project documents.

  • Provide general administrative assistance including drafting minutes of meetings and organizing files.

Eligibility criteria

  • Must be a national, a legal resident, or hold refugee status in Tunisia.

  • Must hold a Bachelor degree in law, criminal justice, public administration, international development, political science, or a related field.

  • Must have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in administrative support, programme coordination, or project assistance.

  • Must be fluent in English, Arabic, and French.

  • Must possess strong interpersonal, networking, and communication skills.

  • Must have the ability to work collaboratively and contribute effectively within a team environment.

  • Must be proficient in computer applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
