Opportunity description

UNV offers a volunteer opportunity in the state of Palestine for the position of project coordinator 'Support to Development of Cultural Tourism', which is expected to start on 27/04/2023 for 6 months with possibility of extension. This position required mainly you to have experience in Community development, Logistics and Inventory, Social work. As, this Program aims at supporting the development of cultural tourism in Palestine, through revitalized cultural infrastructure and increased engagement of private sector through Public- Private Partnerships (PPPs). 

Duties & responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Programme Analyst, you will focus on the achievement of the following tasks:

  • Field Work and Implementation:
  • Support the program analyst in the follow-up of project plans and activities in collaboration with implementing partners.
  • Facilitate field visits to gather data, follow up on progress.
  • Prepare field visits reports.
  • Review progress reports of implementing partners, and support in the drafting of donor reports.
  • Stakeholder and Partnership Engagement:
  • Assist the Programme Analyst in meetings with stakeholders including governmental officials, private sector, NGOs and the local community.
  • Propose activities that seek the active engagement and participation of women and youth throughout the implementation of the project.
  • Provide support to implementing partners, under the guidance of the Project Analyst.
  • Communication and visibility:
  • Work closely with implementing partners, project stakeholders, relevant and communities at the field level.
  • Liaise with the government entities for the development of the marketing plan.

Eligibility criteria

You must have:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Community development, Social work, Administration.
  • Experience in -A first-level university degree or equivalent in social science or related field.
  • At least 0 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in field coordination.
  • Experience with community work.
  • Experience working in the UN or other international development organization.
  • Excellent oral and written skills.
  • Excellent drafting, formulation, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners.
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment.
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; and familiarity with database management.
  • Professionalism and decision-making skills.
  • Planning and organizing and self-management skills.
  • Arabic, and English languages.
