Opportunity description

Running on a monthly basis.

Stories up to 1000 words in any theme or genre.

Prize: £50 and inclusion in an annual anthology.

Entry fee: £5 per story or £8 for two

Eligibility criteria

  • Submit stories in .doc or .docx format, with 1.5 or double spacing, to flash.shooterlitmag@gmail.com.
  • Include your identifying information (name and a brief third-person bio) in the body of the email, not in the story file.
  • The author’s bio should be prepared for immediate use, as it will be published at the end of the winning story. You can also add links to your website or social media if applicable.
  • Stories must not exceed 1,000 words, excluding the title.
  • Entry fee: £5 per story or £8 for two (via PayPal links provided below).
  • After submitting, you’ll receive a copy of the latest Shooter Flash anthology via email.
  • Submissions are accepted year-round, and stories can be sent at any time.
  • Stories may be previously published or unpublished, and multiple submissions are allowed.
  • Stories submitted within a calendar month will be reviewed for potential publication the following month.
  • The winning story will be featured on Shooter’s website on the second Monday of each month.
  • The winning writer will receive a £50 prize via PayPal after online publication.
  • By submitting, the winning writer grants Shooter the right to publish their story on Shooter’s website and in the annual flash anthology, as well as the right to share quotes from the story on social media.
