Opportunity description
UNV offers an online volunteer opportunity and announces its need for one volunteer for 8 weeks to support the social media activity for UNIC Canberra and the conference "Disinfo Pacific" to be held in November 2024. The conference will focus on strategies for preventing, mitigating, and implementing best practices to address the global challenge of disinformation. It aims to provide a sub-regional forum for journalists, social media experts, educators, researchers, and policy and communications professionals, from within and outside the UN.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Assist with social media and marketing plan based on requirements and discussion with focal point/ communications team.
- Co-create the social media activity according to agreed requirements.
- Develop a series of social media assets once the final concept is agreed upon, with a particular focus on a youth (university level) student audience.
Please note:
- The design/layout should follow corporate design guidelines which will be shared with the Online Volunteers in advance.
- You will have the opportunity to build connections with the UNIC Canberra team and its partners and learn about the ways in which social media communication can support the promotion of a conference centering on disinformation as it relates to democracy/elections, climate, and health.
Eligibility criteria
You should have:
- A degree in graphic design or a related field.
- Professional experience in graphic design with previous experience in designing document layouts.
- In-depth knowledge of graphic design applications.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- English, Level: Working knowledge.
