Opportunity description
UNV offers an online volunteer opportunity and announces its need for 6 volunteers to support for conducting research and communication activities for Civil Society Engagement. Those volunteers will join an innovative and dynamic team that prioritizes using alternative finance tools and emerging technologies to address development challenges in 57 OIC MCs.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Support activities that equip civil society with the necessary knowledge and skills.
- Your work will span two main activities:
- The communication aspect which includes direct engagement with civil society and outreach, including social media engagement, press releases, reporting, and newsletters.
- The research aspect that involves mapping out civil society organizations in 57 OIC MCs, as well as the crowdfunding ecosystem and blockchain initiatives.
Please note:
- The results will enhance existing research and map out the civil society organizations that AltFinLab engages with through its programs, with a focus on the Gulf region and Africa.
- Thus, it is advantageous for candidates to reside in the Gulf Area or African countries that are part of the OIC.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- At least a bachelor’s degree in any field, e.g. Social Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Arts and Humanities, Communication, or Economics.
- Experience in the field of civil society, research, and communication.
- Fluency in English and either French or Arabic.
- Ability to work 16-20 hours per week.
