Opportunity description

The UICC Foundation is announcing a series of technical fellowships for cancer professionals. This fellowship will provide accepted candidates with the opportunity to acquire new knowledge, skills and technologies in cancer control through short educational visits ranging from two weeks to two months. First launched in 1976 as the International Cancer Research Technology Transfer Awards (ICRETT), the fellowship has facilitated knowledge exchange over the past four decades. The fellowship aims to:
  • Facilitate international exchange and development of knowledge and technical skills in cancer control.
  • Build the capacity of individuals and organizations through effective application and dissemination of newly acquired skills in the parent organization upon return from the fellowship.
  • Develop networks of cancer professionals to continue sharing best practices and knowledge, and provide informal support, mentoring and ongoing training.

Benefits

  • Fellowship awards are calculated by UICC based on the length of the fellowship and published benchmarks for living expenses and economy airfare from home to host countries.
  • Fellowships range from two weeks to two months, and the following are the different fellowship durations at the maximum possible level of funding:
    • Two weeks: $2,200
    • Three weeks: $2,800

    • Five weeks: $4,000
    • Six weeks: $4,600
    • Seven weeks: $5,200
    • Eight weeks: $5,800
