FilmFreeway is pleased to announce the events of the Rwanda Film Festival which is an African film competition and an international event. This year the festival is launched with the theme ‘’African film Industry: Mastering the art of telling our stories’’, the festival wants to celebrate complex and beautiful stories. RFF 2022 competition is looking for great, creative, and vibrant films of filmmakers from the African continent and the diaspora. RFF is opening ways for a market in the region giving filmmakers and producers an opportunity to share, promote and develop the industry of film, TV, and digital entertaining.

Eligibility criteria
You should follow the following criteria:
- The festival accepts submissions of long feature films, short fictions, long documentaries, short documentaries, animations, and web series.
- Films must have been completed on or after February 2018.
- Running Time should be:
- Long feature Film: No less than 60 minutes, Short Fiction: Less than 30 minutes Long.
- Documentary: No Less than 50 minutes, Short Documentary: Less than 30 minutes.
- Animation: 30 min.
- All films must be in English or with English subtitles.
- Rwanda Film Festival does not consider films that require screening/rental fees.
- Promotional and institutional films are not eligible.
- All films submitted must be free from any legal disputes and the filmmaker must have cleared all rights for music and exhibition.
Timeline:
- Opening Date: February 20, 2022.
- Regular Deadline: April 20, 2022.
- Notification Date: June 10, 2022.
- Event Date: July 10 – August 6, 2022.
