SMOKELONG QUARTERLY Magazine announces the annual SmokeLong Grand Micro Online Short Story Contest, which will give winners the chance to win $1,000.
Benefits
- The grand prize winner will receive $1,000.
- The second place winner will receive $500.
- The third place winner will receive $300.
- The finalists will receive $100.
- All of the above will be published in the December 2024 issue of SmokeLong.
Eligibility criteria
- Entries must be no more than 250 words, excluding the title.
- Entries must be in English or any other language with an English translation, as the story will be judged based on the English text.
- Previously published works are eligible for this competition.
- Anyone 18 years or older can apply for this competition.
- Entrants from all countries are eligible for this opportunity.
- Fiction, non-fiction, and novels that are a mix of both are eligible for this opportunity.
- Please use clear, bold font and good single spacing, but double spacing is also acceptable.
- All entries are read anonymously by a team of 15 SmokeLong editors from around the world, so you must remove all identifying information from the story document itself. Please be sure to remove your name from the title, pages, and file name as well. Your name should only appear on your cover, which will not be seen by the judges.
- Entry fee for the period from August 1 to September 30:
- Entry with one or two works: $11.
- Submit up to 4 works: $16
- Entry fee from October 1st to November 15th:
- Submit 1-2 works: $14
- Submit up to 4 works: $22
