The thirty-first ESCWA session will be held in two parts. The senior officials segment, on 16 and 17 December, will tackle the main theme of governance from various aspects, including related challenges in the Arab region; governance of natural resources; economic governance; and conflict prevention. The socioeconomic consequences of the current war on Gaza and main tenants for recovery will also be in focus. The ministerial segment, on 18 December, will discuss the Arab Vision 2045, prepared jointly with the League of Arab States.

About ESCWA:
ESCWA was established in 1973, it is one of five regional commissions under the jurisdiction of the United Nations Economic and Social Council. The role of the Commission is to promote the economic and social development of Western Asia through regional and subregional cooperation and integration. It plays a critical role in promoting a holistic approach to development in their regions and balancing the economic, social, and environmental dimensions of sustainable development in their member States.
