Opportunity description
UNV offers a volunteer opportunity in the field of translation and interpretation for 1 week. It actively seeks the assistance of 4 online volunteers who can assist in translating and proofreading certain documents from English to Arabic and French.
Duties & responsibilities
4 Online Volunteers will be responsible for supporting in translating the web content (around 22 pages):
- Two volunteers will be asked to:
- Translate the documents from English to Arabic.
- Translate the documents from English to French.
- Two volunteers will:
- Improve the language consistency of the translated documents.
- Proofread and eliminate any grammar errors or typo.
- Ensure the translation is concise, in line with the communications guidelines, and fits the audience.
Please note: Online Volunteers will be provided with the document in the original language (English) and will receive guidance on the target audience as well as other guidance as needed.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- Fluent in Arabic/French and English languages.
- Previous translation experience.
- Ability to work 16-20 hours per week.
- The ability not only to translate but also to interpret the words (use simply clear and understandable for all people's languages).
