Opportunity description
UNV offers a volunteer opportunity and announces its need for the efforts of one of the volunteers to work as a user experience/user interface designer starting from 12/12/2023 for 3 months with the possibility of extension. The position holder will develop and maintain frontend websites, as well as design collaterals, creating looks, layouts, and features in attractive professional graphic design.
Duties & responsibilities
- Create the look, layout, and features of a website in attractive professional graphic design in an intuitive, user-friendly style and design collaterals.
- Develop frontend for websites using UN-established standards for web design, technologies, and tools.
- Interpret user requirements and translate these into systems specifications.
- Analyze and advise on innovative web-based solutions.
- Prepare technical and user documentation for deployed websites and products, as well as training materials, and conduct technical presentations.
- Maintain functional specifications for websites, programs, and procedures developed and/or modified.
- Provide support for deployed websites including version management, data recovery, and deployment.
- Support digitization, visualization, and development of infographics for various products.
- Trains staff on completed products.
- Assists in the maintenance and enhancement of existing user systems, the development of new software applications, and data visualization and data analytics initiatives.
- Any other related tasks as needed per UN ICT or ESCWA’s strategy.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, or related fields.
- 2 years of experience in a multi-developer environment with extensive knowledge of web design (HTML, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and any JavaScript dialect/frameworks.
- Certification in web design /development.
- English, Level: Fluent.
- Arabic, Level: Working knowledge.
- Creativity and professionalism.
- Planning and organizing skills.
Please note: Candidate must be a national or legal resident of the country of assignment.
